About me
I am a development professional with approximately 16 years of experience, including eight years of engagement in evaluation-related work. My professional expertise includes monitoring and evaluation, disability inclusion, health program development, strategic planning, and evidence-informed program management. Currently, I serve as Senior Program Manager at The Fred Hollows Foundation, where I lead and coordinate program development, implementation, partnership management, and implementation oversight along with government liaison and collaboration. In my current role, monitoring and intermittent evaluation are integral components of the project management cycle. As a focal person for multiple projects, I work closely with project teams and partners to ensure that implementation remains aligned with evaluation findings and recommendations. This includes tracking progress against project objectives, identifying implementation gaps and operational challenges, and supporting adaptive management to strengthen program effectiveness and accountability. Previously, I worked with the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) under the Ministry of Planning, Government of Bangladesh, in collaboration with UNICEF. In this role, I contributed to the establishment of pilot Results Monitoring Units aimed at monitoring the effective coverage of basic social services. I also worked closely with a team of national and international experts in the development of national evaluation guidelines. As part of the government–UNICEF joint initiative, I facilitated Evaluation Reference Groups for several national-level projects and supported coordination among key stakeholders throughout the evaluation process. Academically, I hold a Postgraduate Diploma and a Master’s degree in Health Economics from the University of Dhaka. This academic background has strengthened my understanding of health economics concepts, including quality-adjusted life years (QALY), disability-adjusted life years (DALY), and cost-effectiveness analysis, which I apply in health program planning and evidence-based decision-making. To further strengthen my professional capacity in evaluation and results-based management, I completed professional short courses on evaluation from the BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health. I also collaborated with the institution in organizing capacity-building workshops for IMED government officials on evaluation practices and results-based management approaches. More recently, I have presented at both national and international forums, including the RDI Exchange Network Conference 2025 in Australia, where I presented on inclusive eye care in Bangladesh. My professional interests lie in strengthening evidence-informed programming, promoting inclusive development practices, and enhancing the use of monitoring, evaluation, and learning to improve development outcomes.
