Sylvia Ŋulpinditj is a Galpu woman from Guluma with connections to Garrimala and Ŋaypinya. Born and raised on Yurruwi island, she has worked with ARDS in Darwin for 16 years. A well‑known radio presenter, she broadcasts in Yolŋu Matha across Northeast Arnhem Land with the award‑winning Yolŋu Radio (ICTV Video Award for
Bulunu Milkarri and many others). As co-CEO of ARDS and co‑djägamirr (manager) of Yolŋu Radio, she contributes to projects across the whole organisation and guides non‑Yolŋu leadership. Sylvia co‑facilitates
ARDS’ cultural competency workshops, has commentated the
AFL Dreamtime game in Yolŋu Matha, and has presented as well as moderated at PULiiMA conference. Her leadership is recognised in Yolŋu and non-Yolŋu contexts.
