Gulwanyang Moran is a proud Birrbay and Dhanggati woman of the Gathang language group. Wanggan social section. Bloodline identities Guula (koala). Makurr (bass), nation identities gurrgiyn (praying mantis) and guyiwan (grey nurse shark), clan identity biluun (stingray). A passionate advocate in language and cultural resurgence. Gulwanyang is the author behind archivalwayfinding.org and is currently a PhD candidate at UTS exploring a reanalysis of the Gathang language. The CEO of the Gathangga Walulda language and culture centre, Gulwanyang sits on the National Language Policy Partnership group and speaks and teaches the Gathang language. Gulwanyang is incredibly passionate about genomics and the role it plays within ceremonial practice as well as advocating for the protection of cultural knowledge and practices of data soveriegnty and Indigenous data governance.
